History
She was born in Denerim's alienage, an only child to parents who had struggled to have children for years. Her father was a tailor, and her mother a leathersmith - she'd learned the craft from her father, who was Dalish, and she had planned to hand the skills down to her daughter. Elowyn's magical talents were discovered when a much older girl kicked her when she was seven, and as she burst into tears the hem of the bully's skirt burst into flames. She remembers vaguely how her parents held her and cried before the templars came to take her away, how they smiled through their tears and told her they were so proud of their little Ellie. She grew up to be a shy mouse of a girl, whose meekness stood in stark contrast to her talent for fire-based magic, which of all the disciplines is one of the most overtly destructive. The Circles rebelled and dissolved before she could undergo her Harrowing. She was taken with some of the other mages as they left to join the rebellion, and they were almost immediately set upon by templars as they made their escape. She was the only survivor.
Additional Information
- Very good with fire, knows a little bit about healing and herbalism, but plans to learn more
- Things around her might spontaneously combust when she feels frightened, and she finds this terribly embarrassing
- Hasn't been through her Harrowing, so among her many fears becoming an Abomination is high on the list
- While she never would have had the courage to escape the Circle on her own, now that she's out, she's not going back
